Gift Guide: Top 6 Gifts For Him

Hey, everyone! Today we are focusing on gifts for him. If you’re confused on what to buy for your dad, brother, best guy friend, boyfriend or any other man in your life, or you just want some gift ideas in general, you’ve come to the right place. I’ll be breaking them down by category and giving you some ideas for gifts that I think could be a hit on Christmas Day.

Men’s Ugg Slippers

In the cooler months, few things can make you feel cozier than warm feet. I think slippers are a great gift for any man in your life because it’s practical and can definitely be used on a daily basis. You can pick up these UGG Men’s Scuff Slipper on Amazon, and the price ranges from $66-$125 depending on what color and size you choose.

Herschel Supply Co. Bags

My second suggestion is to gift an everyday bag that whoever you are giving to can use often. The brand I am suggesting is Herschel, but if you feel whoever you are gifting to might like another brand better, definitely go with that. I simply chose Herschel because I like the look of their bags and feel that they are well made, reliable, and will last for some time. The Herschel Supply Co. Backpack costs $80-$100 depending on what color you choose. Also, the Herschel Supply Co. Novel Duffel Bag ranges from $50-$100 also depending on what color you choose.

Wallet/Card Holder

Staying with this trend of practical giving, a wallet is always a great gift, and you are sure to find one within your price range. Whether you want it to be genuine leather, cloth, vegan fabric, etc., there are so many styles to choose from. Here are three that I love all under $25.

Herschel Supply Co. Men’s Card Holder Wallet

Fossil Men’s Derrick Front Pocket Bifold

Levi’s Men’s Extra Capacity Slimfold Wallet

Dress Socks

Many of my best guy friends work in the corporate world, and there are few things they care about more when it comes to their corporate apparel than their dress socks. I was so surprised to find that out, but apparently, socks are their way of expressing their personality through their corporate “uniform” without having to splurge on expensive suits. So if a guy in your life often dresses up in business attire, get him a few fun (not black) dress socks to spice up his wardrobe. I have linked some great Lords Mens Cotton Dress Socks from Amazon for under $15 for the pack of 12. If these aren’t your style or his, there are so many choose from on their site.

Cologne Sampler Kits

Screen Shot 2017-11-17 at 12.55.49 PMScreen Shot 2017-11-17 at 12.55.36 PMJust as many women love their perfumes and smelling great, a lot of men love their cologne as well. While scents are a personal thing and everyone has their own preference, I think it’s always nice to give a sampler kit because it gives the receiver the opportunity to try colognes that they may or may not have tested before. It also gives them the opportunity to find a new scent they love. Some of the best sampler kits can be found at Sephora, so check them out. They are $65 each. Click on each picture for links to those specific cologne kits.

Gift Guide: Top 5 Gifts for the Fitness Junkie In Your Life!

Hey, everyone! Today we are focusing on gifts for the fitness junkie in our lives. We all know at least one person who prioritizes the gym over taco Tuesday or invites you on friend/family outings that involve fitness. Whoever they may be, here are some awesome gifts that they’ll definitely use because they aline with their active lifestyles and fitness goals.

BodyBoss

s-l1000If you regularly keep up with my blog then this is no surprise to you. I’ve dedicated a whole post to this item in the past. It’s the BodyBoss, and I love and use it frequently. As someone who doesn’t love going to the gym, but loves to get a good workout in, the BodyBoss allows me to accomplish just that from anywhere.

Whether I’m traveling or just want to do a little resistance training at home, the BodyBoss is my go to. I recently created a post dedicated solely to the BodyBoss, so if you’re curious an want to learn more/read more of my thoughts on this product than definitely click here. While the BodyBoss usually costs $179, if you use the promo code SYDNEYUMERI you can get 15% off your order.

Hydro Flask

I know, there are so many bottles to choose from these days so what makes this bottle better? I personally love this brand,Hydro Flask because they have so many different bottle sizes (12oz, 32o, 64oz, etc.) but all of their caps (wide mouth, straw, etc.) are universal. This makes staying hydrated really easy, especially if you purchase more than one of their bottles or any other products in their line.

Also, your drinks or food, depending on what you pick up, can stay hot or cold for over 12 hours. Staying hydrated is so important for everyone, but may be a point of emphasis for the fitness junkie in your life. Help them out by getting them a water bottle that can fit their needs and is built to last. Hydro Flasks can range from $30-$130 depending on the size.

Quiet Punch

quiet-punch-1A full review of this product is on the way, most likely in the new year, but if your fit friend enjoys boxing, then this will be perfect for them. The Quiet Punch is a small, portable punching bag that makes significantly less noise than a regular punching bag, Now whoever you’re gifting to can get a good boxing workout in without leaving their house (all they need is a doorway), but even more importantly, it’s quiet so it won’t disturb anyone. Also, from what I understand, it comes with an app that can put you through a boxing workout! The quiet punch is $125.

Five12 Apparel

Again, another product that I have yet to review this year, but trust me, a review is coming soon. I heard about Five12 a little while ago and have fallen in love with their brand, what they stand for, and the quality of their products. If the fitness junkie you’re gifting to like fitness and sustainability than Five12 is for you. They make their clothing out of s.cafe’ fabric, which is a technical composite made out of coffee grounds. The properties found in the coffee gives the fabric its odor absorbing properties, as well as UV protection, a fast drying time and much more. Yes, that’s right for all of you coffee lovers, Five12 is giving your used coffee grounds a second life through clothing. Also, their clothes are quite affordable if you ask me. I mean, I love Lululemon among other brands, but I don’t love their prices. At the moment, Five12’s most expensive piece is $75, but if you use the promo code Sydney17, you can get 20% off your order.

Running Belt

I know not everyone runs, and while this belt can be used during any exercise, I find it to be most beneficial when I run. I never loved the running armband that you could put your phone in, and when my last running belt broke, I decided to get this one. It’s way higher quality than my last one and allows me to carry my essentials (phone, money, ID, etc.) when running. Also, it’s less than $15!

I hope this blog post was helpful for you guys and at least jumpstarted your thought process on gift giving for the fitness junkie in your life.

Pay It Forward For the Holidays

The holidays are definitely a time for giving, and while most of the time we are giving to people we know, this is a great time to look outside of your circle of friends and family and give to others as well.

Character is how you treat those who can do nothing for you.

Here are some fun ways to pay it forward or just give back this holiday season.

Volunteer at a Shelter

Even if it’s just for an hour, volunteering at a shelter at least once this holiday season is really worth your time. Whether it’s organizing files they need sorted, helping with the residents of the shelter or even preparing lunches, the time you spend there will help you reflect on how blessed you are to experience the holidays the way you do. It can also open your eyes to the need in your community and can inspire you to volunteer more often throughout the year.

Volunteer at a Soup Kitchen

Soup Kitchens are a great place to volunteer around the holidays. Food is vital for our existence yet when you don’t have to worry about where your next meal is coming from, and eating is something you don’t think twice about, it’s easy to take it for granted. But at a soup kitchen/food shelter, it’s different. You’ve never seen true gratitude until you serve there. So if you get the chance this holiday, especially if you’ve never served at a food soup kitchen before, you’re in for a treat.

Become a Salvation Army Bell Ringer

Screen Shot 2017-11-21 at 6.41.18 PM.png

Last year I was given the opportunity to become a Salvation Army Bell Ringer with my Kansas women’s basketball teammates, and it was so much fun. It’s awesome to put a smile on someone’s face or to simply spread holiday cheer to strangers. But it’s even better doing it for a good cause.

“Pay” It Forward

This is a fun and extremely practical way to spread joy and good spirits in your daily life. Paying it forward can be executed a number of ways, but my favorite way is by paying for someone in a way they can’t pay you back. This might be paying for the person behind you at the Starbucks drive through, taking up the tab for the couple dining across the room from you at a restaurant, giving your waiter or waitress a generous tip… the list goes on. It really just comes down to doing something nice for someone who you don’t know.

One of my favorite random acts of kindness comes from a good friend and old teammate. She left just enough money in a vending machine for whoever wanted a snack to get it without having to pull from their own pockets. It was pretty awesome, and I’m sure whoever got to it first was pleasantly surprised and hopefully inspired to do something similar for someone else.

I hope this blog post inspired you to get out and do something awesome for someone you don’t know this holiday season.

Secret Santa & White Elephant Gift Guide Under $25

We eight days into December and I’m sure there are some holiday parties on the horizon for you if you haven’t already had some. Many times, these parties involve a gift exchange of some sort, but more often than not you don’t know the people you’re giving to well enough. Actually, most of the time, you probably don’t know what they like at all. Well here are some universal gag gifts that I believe would go over well with anyone at a Secret Santa or White Elephant gift giving event.

Drunk Stoned or Stupid [A Party Game]

Personally, I’ve never played this game, but I’ve heard wonderful things about it. Also, you can’t really go wrong with giving away a party game. In some cases, you might be able to play it right there at your Christmas party. But regardless of if you do or don’t, I’m sure that person will be happy to have it to break the ice at other parties/get-togethers. This item is $16 or $25 depending on where you buy it.

 The Official BS Button

Remember the Staples, “That was easy,” button. Yup, this is the better less kid friendly friendly version. I’m sure we’ve all wanted to call BS on someone at work, school, wherever. Here is your opportunity, and I’m sure it’ll bring a smile to the face of anyone who is receiving it as a gift. This item ranges from $5-$9.

Sling Backpacks

Practical gifts are always great because the person you give it to will definitely get a lot of use out of it. Sling bags are awesome for a number of things, but especially the extremely outdoorsy person. Whether it’s for hiking, going to a festival, or anything in between, this small bag allows you to accomplish your tasks hands-free. As a disclaimer, they labeled this bag as a women’s bag, but who genders sling bags? It comes in bright yellow, pink and black and is and is under $17.

Savvy Coffee Handheld Milk Frother

Again, another practical gift, or at least it is in my eyes. I’ve always wanted to make my own proper latte at home, and you can’t truly do that without frothy milk. Well, search no further the answer is here. Whether the person you’re giving to is a big latte fanatic or not, I’m sure they can find a use for this awesome tool. I mean everyone drinks hot chocolate at least once during the holidays, right? This product is just under $12.

 Poo-Pourri Toilet Spray

Everyone poops. Girls do it, guys do it and yet some people are still embarrased. Well, to limit the embarrasment and leave any bathroom smelling better than it did when they left it, you can give poo-pourri. So may think it’s sending the wrong message, especially if you don’t know the person, but honestly, I think you’re just introducig them to a tool they never knew about. You’d be surprised how many people avoid going to the bathroom in public places because they don’t want to “embarrass” themselves. They might be secretly grateful you gave it to them. This item is under $15 for 1.0oz.

 Electric Wine Opener

Unless the person you’re giving to doesn’t drink at all (which is totally cool) I think anyone would be excited to get this. No more broken corks that you have to push into the bottle because you messed up the first time around. Take the guess work out of it and allow them to enjoy their wine faster with this electric wine opener. This item is under $21 depending on where you buy it from.

 “Raining Men” Bubble Dome Umbrella
Now, this is more for women or gay men, but regardless it’s definitely a piece that can put a smile on anyone’s face. If worse comes to worse, everyone knows at least one woman who would appreciate this punny umbrella. This umbrella is under $20.

Hillary Clinton and/or Donald Trump Toilet Paper

Maybe you happen to know the person you’re giving to voted for, or in this case didn’t vote for. Well, perfect give them some toilet paper of their least favorite candidate so that they can show them how they really feel. If you don’t know who they voted for, give them both and let them choose. It’s less than $7 each.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it. I also hope your secret Santa and white elephant gift giving parties go over well and that these gifts took the guesswork out of choosing a gift.

As always, if you liked this post please share it on social media and subscribe to my blog so that you never miss a post.

5 Ugly Christmas Sweaters Under $25

It’s that time of year where ugly Christmas sweaters re-appear, and honestly, there are so many to choose from. There are the “ugly” Christmas sweaters that don’t actually look ugly. There are the ones that are funny, and then the ones that leave you scratching your head.

Regardless of what your style is, this blog post has them all. Below are five ugly Christmas sweaters worth wearing and they are under $25.

Trump “Make Christmas Great Again” Ugly Christmas Sweater

I had to start out with this one because, politics aside, I thought it was pretty funny. Nothing screams “Merry Christmas,” like a make America… I mean Christmas Great Again ugly sweater. It’ll be a great conversation starter, and something tells me, this jumper will never really go out of style, even after 2020. It comes in black, brown, green, gray, navy, orange, royal blue and red. This is labeled as a men’s sweater and ranges between $18-$20 depending on where you buy it from.

Rudolph 3d Pom Pom Nose Ugly Christmas Sweater

Here is your typical ugly Christmas sweater with a twist. We all love Rudolph, but I think everyone loves Rudolph a little more when his nose is 3d. Yup, that’s right. His nose is a pom pom, which make the sweater that much more fun, and “ugly” I guess. This comes in red, green and black. It is labeled as women’s sweater, and it comes in various sizes. Finally, it ranges anywhere between $9-$15 without shipping and depending on what size you choose.

Men/Women 3D Printed Ugly Christmas Sweater

Christmas time is generally a time for cold weather, heavy coats, and the extra 10lb you’re hiding under all the clothing you’re wearing. But who needs to worry about what your body looks like when your jumper basically shows off what should/could be underneath. You could win a Sexy Santa competition with one of these. This is great if your Christmas party gives out ugly sweater superlatives. There are also many awesome 3D printed sweaters (cat and dog 3D sweaters) connected to the Amazon link above. The price ranges from 22-$23.

“Go, Jesus, it’s Your Birthday” Ugly Christmas Sweater

Nothing says “Remember the reason for the season,” quite like this jumper. Let’s just say it’s a modern twist on the traditional happy birthday song. This jumper comes in black, gray, green, pink and navy, comes in all sizes and is no more than $22.

“Pizza on Earth” Ugly Christmas Sweater

Peace… I mean pizza on Earth and good will to men. Definitely, a “punny” ugly sweater that is sure to start a conversation or deliver a few laughs. Also, if you’re in college, the chances that there is pizza at your ugly Christmas sweater party is pretty high, so this pun may play right into your hands. This comes in only in navy, in a range of sizes, and is under $16.

As you might be able to tell if you clicked on the links provided, all of these wonderful sweaters can be found on Amazon for under $25 and many of them have Prime shipping. So if you need the sweater fast and you’re an Amazon Prime member, these sweaters could be at your doorstep within 24-hours of purchasing.

I hope this blog post gave you a few ideas for affordable ugly Christmas sweater, and hopefully made you laugh a few times.

Gift Guide: Top 9 Gifts For Her

Hey, everyone! Today we are focusing on gifts for her. If you’re confused on what to by for your mom, sister, best friend, girlfriend or any other woman in your life, you’ve come to the right place. Here are a few gift ideas that could be a hit on Christmas Day.

Drunk Elephant Duo Kits

I’m a big fan of skincare and have heard nothing but wonderful things about this company in the past. They are committed to using a mixture of natural and clinical ingredients, all of which are safe and produce results. Just scrolling through their reviews on Sephora and Amazon, it seems as though their products do just that, create results. With that said, I recommend that you consider giving Drunk Elephant Duos. The nighttime duo contains the T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum & Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil and their daytime duo contains C-Firma Day Serum & B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel.

Soko Glam

Recently, I discovered the Korean skincare method and the benefits that can be seen by using their 10-step skincare process. While I may never make all 10 steps a part of my skincare ritual, I think learning about each step and how it can benefit your skin is a great idea. If you head over to Soko Glam, you can do just that, and while you’re there you can browse some of the best products in Korean skincare. While you browse, look out for the label that says “Soko Glam Best of K-Beauty Award Winner.” I would highly recommend you gift anything on that list. All of those products are amazing and whoever uses them are bound to see results. Some of my favorite products and ones that I highly recommend gifting are the Missha Time Revolution The First Intensive Moist Treatment EssenceNeogen Dermalogy Real Fresh Green Tea Cleansing Foam, and Clean It Zero. You can give them individually, together, or you can pair a mixture of these items with other basic skincare items like cotton pads, makeup remover wipes, exfoliating clothes, etc., and give it to them as a basket/package gift. But also, on Soko Glam they have skincare sets on their site. One set that I love is their 5-step dry skin set, and I don’t even have dry skin. Anyway, there are plenty of sets to choose from, but depending on how well you know who you’re giving to and how much you want to spend, you may just want to make your own kit.

Glossier

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

There are few makeup brands making as much noise in the beauty industry as Glossier is right now. From launching Boy Brow (their brow gel), to cloud paints (their cream blushes), and now they have a fragrance that everyone is raving about, whoever you’re gifting to will be elated to receive Glossier, even if they’ve never heard of them. All of the items I mentioned above are worth giving, but I want to highlight one of my favorites. It’s so simple, yet very wearable, and that is the beauty of giving it as a gift. It’s the birthday balm dotcom, lip balm. It’s not like the typical matte lip balm that people use just for cold weather. It gives you a “your lips but better,” look. It’s shiny, but not too shiny, and has the tiniest specks of glitter, but don’t make you look like you found a kids beauty product. Basically, it’s hard to explain, but it’s wonderful, and I highly recommend that you try and gift it this Christmas. You can give a combination of these gifts as well.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster Review

I’ve raved about this before and I’ll do it again. This may be one of the best if not the best vitamin C serums on the market. If the person you’re giving to loves skincare, more specifically brightening skincare products, then this is the one. Truth Serum is not exactly cheap, but it works. I use this daily and really couldn’t imagine a day without it. Whoever you’re giving this to will surely thank you for the glowy skin you’ve gifted them. While The Truth serum alone may be mistaken for a stocking stuffer, you can always buy the Three Little Wonders Mini Set from Sephora, which will give them the opportunity to try the serum along with two other Ole Henriksen products.

Essential Oils & Diffuser

Best-Essential-Oil-Diffuser-Reviews

As mentioned in past posts, I will get around to making a blog post dedicated to essential oils, but long story short, they are way more than just good smelling oils. They have healing qualities among many other benefits that make them so useful. So this Christmas give the gift of good smell and many other benefits by gifting a diffuser and essential oils. There are so many essential oil brands to choose from, and some are better than others. But one brand that I’ve found to be priced pretty reasonable given the quality of their oils is Plant Therapy, and you can buy their Plant Therapy Essential Oils Sampler. Also, while essential oils by themselves can do wonders for people, using them in a diffuser is where the magic happens. Though diffusers can be expensive, Amazon has some awesome ones for around $25 or less. The InnoGear Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser is the one I picked out, and it’s a higher end diffuser that is currently on sale for just over $25.

Nest Candles

nest-classic-holiday-candle

Yes, candles, but not just any kind of candles, Nest Candles. If you don’t know about Nest, it’s a high-end candle that smells amazing! Well, they all smell amazing because of course, they don’t just produce one scent. Their scents are definitely a treat and often haven’t been snift by the noses of many. I think this is a great individual gift or as mentioned before, you can pair it with something else. Regardless, you can’t go wrong with a Nest candle as a Christmas present. Here’s the link to their 8.1 oz and 21.2 oz Holiday candle scent which smells divine!

Lumee Case

30530592821_4b07f0f1bc_o

I have one of these, and I find it to be extremely useful. Whether your friend loves to take selfies, only takes pictures with pristine lighting, or is a blogger and needs this case to light her/his product shorts, I think the Lumee Case can do it all. While they don’t have a case out for the iPhone X, there are Lumi cases available for every other version of the iPhone, as well as the Samsung Galaxy s6 and s7. You can find the case here.

Mobile Picture Printer

hp-sprocket-smartphone-printer-photo-2

There are many different versions of this, and while I do not have one myself, the mobile printer that I will suggest is the HP Sprocket. On the same trend of picture taking, if your friend likes taking pictures and likes posting or displaying pictures around their room, locker and other spaces, the Sprocket is a great gift. Who needs a Polaroid camera when your mobile phone takes great pictures? The only thing you’re missing is the printer and here is the solution.

Pajamas

classic-woven-womens-pajamas-o

Depending on how well you know someone you might feel comfortable enough to get the PJs, and I think that’s a wonderful gift. Honestly, I really appreciate a good pair of PJs but am reluctant to get a pair for myself because I feel like there are so many other things I could be spending my money on. I think a lot of people are in the same boat. They appreciate a good pair of pajamas but won’t go out and buy them for themselves. Here are a few great brands of PJ sets that I think people will love and that won’t break the bank.

I hope this blog post was helpful for you guys and at least jumpstarted your thought process on gift giving for the ladies in your life. There are three other gift guides on the way: gifts for him, the fit person in your life, and secret Santa/ white elephant gifts.

Best Advent Calendars on the Market

Hey, guys! December is finally upon us and with Christmas around the corner, I know we are all counting down the days. But why wait until Christmas Day to get your gifts when you can enjoy the countdown along the way with small gifts every day?

Here are a few of the best advent calendars currently on the market. Many of the best higher end advents are sold out by now and have been sold out for months. But all of these are still in stock and should make for great early presents for friends, family, or yourself, as we all countdown to December 25th.

If you’re a fan of the Body Shop products or enjoy all things body and skincare, then you should definitely pick up their advent calendar. ASOS Grooming

Up until now, you might have thought advent calendars were only for women. Well, guess again, there’s an advent calendar for the men in your life as well. While the ASOS women’s make-up and beauty advent are out of stock, their grooming advent is in full supply. While I couldn’t track down an exact list of what’s inside, it is an assortment of skin and hair product from different companies. Take a look at the picture above to see if you recognize any of the brands and products. This advent calendar can be found on ASOS for $87.

Ole Henriksen

Last but not least there is the Ole Henrikson advent calendar, and arguably the advent that I am most excited for. As a skincare junky, nothing beats a deal on a few high-end products. In particular, Ole Henriksen has an excellent vitamin C serum called the Truth Serum. It’s highly effective in making your skin look bright and good as new, but it’s also pretty expensive. Despite only being a sample size, this advent calendar not only has that serum but tones more. Also, unlike the previous advent calendars that I’ve discussed, this is just a 12-day advent. It’s a $108 value but can be bought at Sephora for $69. I honestly think you get your money’s worth from this one. Inside you’ll find…

  • 0.25 oz Truth Serum®
  • 0.25 oz Sheer Transformation® Perfecting Moisturizer
  • 1 oz Pore-Balance Facial Sauna Scrub
  • 1 oz Force of Nurture Intensive Hand Crème
  • 0.5 oz Counter Balance Oil Control Hydrator
  • 1.7 oz The Clean Truth Foaming Cleanser
  • 1 oz Transforming Walnut Scrub
  • 0.25 oz Invigorating Night Transformation Gel
  • 0.25 oz Uplifting Transformation Eye Gel
  • 0.25 oz Nurture Me Moisturizing Crème
  • 0.25 oz Uplifting Transformation Eye Crème
  • 0.25 oz Pure Youth Activating Oil

I hope you found this blog post helpful for gift giving ideas. Also, if you find it hard to justify these prices, no worries, I feel you. But often times I find myself splitting up advent calendar items among the people I need to give presents too. They make for great stocking stuffers, wonderful Secret Santa and White Elephant gifts, and help you to knock out a lot of your gift giving without spending too much on each person, plus you can always keep what you like the most for yourself.

As always, if you found this blog post helpful, please share it on social media, and subscribe so that you never miss a post.

Until next time, get up, get moving, and live your best life! Happy Holidays!
