Hello, wonderful people! I hope you’re all doing well.
Not going to lie, I really struggled to find a topic to cover in today’s blog post. This is not because I couldn’t think of anything, but because I have recently started, and in some cases completed, a few side projects, and I’ve been so focused on them that I have done a lot less consuming and a lot more creating.
For the most part, my best blog posts are written when I consume things, anything (apps, shows, movies, experiences, etc.) and then turn around and tell you all about them, the lessons I’ve learned, what I liked versus didn’t like, and all that jazz. But today is going to be a little different. Today will be a rundown of the side projects I’ve been doing as well as asking for your feedback on them.
To begin, my most recent side project has been learning about Facebook advertising, Google AdWords, and SEO (search engine optimization). If you’re new to this blog, welcome! You probably found me due to my efforts in these areas. Basically, I’m trying to grow the little community we have going here. I created a Facebook page that you can join, as well as have been working to optimize my site for Google search and many other things. So here comes the first questions.
- If you feel so inclined, could you like my Facebook Page and share any posts of mine that you particularly love with your friends via Facebook, Twitter, and any other social media of you’re choosing? (I post my articles on Twitter too. My handle is @sydneyumeri)
- What would you like to see more of on this blog? I really enjoy writing about anything and everything, but I would love to turn my posts into more of a discussion in the comments. What interests you guys? What are topics that you enjoy discussing or reading about? This will really help me to create content that sparks your interest and mine!
On to discussing my second side project. After doing some research and better understanding the wonder that is dropshipping, I have created my own company! I know, it’s exciting, right?
My company is called Dad Hats Only, where I sell some of the trendiest dad hats online for affordable prices.
I’ve always loved the dad hats that you can buy at Urban Outfitters and many other places but found them to be quite expensive. On Dad Hats Only, every hat is $17. That’s $6-$7 lower than the average cost of caps at Urban and many other places. Also, no shade to Urban, I love that store, it’s just expensive.
Because I love you guys so much and because of the support you show me week in and week out, I am offering you a 20% discount off your entire order the first time you buy from Dad Hats Only!! This offer will expire on 11.18.17.
As a side note, a cool thing my company does is that every month we pick a charity and dedicate 5% of the month’s proceeds towards that foundation. This month we are supporting Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and next month it will be Feeding America.
So with that said, I hope you head over to Dad Hats Only and check it out. Also, leave feedback in the comments below. I’d love to hear what you’re thinking!
Finally, the last project I will talk about is actually what Wednesday’s post is all about. Since you’ll read all about it there, I won’t get super in depth, but I have filmed, edited, and will be launching an original mini-series called Movers & Shakers. It’s all about the entrepreneur trying to make their dreams and hobbies happen while maintaining their actually full-time jobs. It also gives you a look into their creative process, what it means to be a creative entrepreneur, and much much more.
I’m so excited to launch this as I have been working on it for the better part of 2017. It’s helped me hone in on my storytelling, filming and editing skills, as well as has introduced me to many amazing people.
So if this piques your interest at all, watch out for Wednesday’s blog post for more information.
With all that said, these are the things that I have been working on, and I just wanted to share them with you. Also, I wanted to take a moment to thank you guys for consistently coming back to my blog and reading my content, it really means a lot!
Until next time, get up, get moving, and live your best life!
